We have been painting a Matariki star. She is the mother of the six sisters in a Maori myth about star patterns. We searched the image from the web and transferred it to the star. We were asked to paint it for the Matariki Festival. We painted it with acrylic paint. We needed to be very careful. This is the star painted by the senior students in Piwakawaka and Kereru.
Welcome to my blog, I'm a student at Kaniere School on the West Coast in New Zealand.

My Self Portrait
Today I made a self portrait of my self. First I toke a photo of my self then I used polyline and traced around my face. I did it around my eyes, my mouth and my nose. After I had done that I turned my face, eyes, mouth and nose into different colour then Mrs Hickford printed out my self portrait. We did it because we had made waka and had to stick our face onto the waka.

Onomatopoeia Art
This is my onomatopoeia art. First I had to cut out our letters then I cut the news paper. I cut the news paper into a explosion. After that I cut out little explosions with coloured paper. I had to pant the out side of the big explosion. I panted it red then I glued the letters on to my big explosion. We had to do this because we were learning about onomatopoeia.

My Art
I used all of the colours that were there. There was blue, green, orange, yellow and red. We used dye. I used a paint brush to put the dye on my art. I felt happy because I had finished and it looked good.
